BEWC: Black European Women\u2019s Council<\/span><\/h3>\n

Black European Women\u2019s Council \u2013BEWC on the \u201cRole of Black Women in an all inclusive Europe, challenges faced by Black European Communities. Main challenge is to identify and address critical needs of Black European Women and children, by raising public awareness both at the national and international level underlining the challenges faced by Black Communities across Europe ensuring that we are recognized on the agenda of the European Union.<\/p>\n

CEDAW: Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination\u00a0 against Women<\/span><\/h3>\n

The inaugural session of the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination\u00a0 against Women (CEDAW) was held at the United Nations Office at Vienna in October 1982. One of the major responsibilities of the Committee is to monitor States parties\u2019 compliance with their treaty obligations. The Committee discharges this responsibility in a constructive dialogue with representatives of the State party, based on a report the State submits in accordance with article 18 of the Convention. There are now 185 States parties to the Convention.<\/p>\n
